Who we are

Welcome to EU4Dual, the European Dual Studies University. We’re an alliance of nine higher education institutions working together with businesses in Europe.

Our unique approach combines academic learning with hands-on experience through dual education. Students alternate between studying and working, giving them practical skills alongside academic knowledge.
We’re here to make dual education the norm across Europe.

Connecting schools, businesses, and local communities, we solve real-world problems.

We’re building stronger ties between regions, creating opportunities for small businesses.

Together, we're shaping the future of higher education.

Our mission

We want to be the world’s leading name in dual education. We aim to tackle Three Grand Challenges: the future of work, a green economy, and healthy living. To do this, we will bring together students, universities, and businesses.

Our vision is simple: to create the largest dual education university with campuses across Europe. We focus on teaching and research that meet the needs of our students, local businesses, and society.

Our goals

Our principles

Dual Education: A Shared Approach

We believe dual education is a method worth sharing and improving. Every part of our university involves students, academics, businesses, and the wider community. Together, we test and refine new ideas, setting an example of how dual education can benefit society.

Growth and Development

Our goal is to expand and improve dual education across Europe. We’re working to grow the number and quality of programmes at our university. We also welcome new members to join us and support research that strengthens the entire sector. Each partner contributes at their own pace, helping us reach our shared goals.

Setting priorities straight

We shape our plans based on the needs of our stakeholders—local industries and communities. Decisions are made collectively by our universities, but we ensure every voice is respected. This way, we balance our shared mission with each member’s unique identity.

Multilingualism

We support the European Union’s multilingualism policy. All stakeholders are encouraged to use multiple languages in their work. Rather than adopting a single language, we promote language learning and diversity, helping to build a mobile and multilingual workforce.

Our policy

Our institution is governed by a board that includes university leaders, student representatives, and regional and industry partners. No group has majority control—everyone has an equal say. This shared leadership reflects our commitment to collaboration.

Academic Independence

Decisions about academic matters are made by experts in education and industry. The university’s administration does not interfere in these areas, ensuring our programmes remain fair and independent.

Central and Local Administration

We operate through a central office and local branches at each university. These offices oversee areas like quality assurance, diversity, international relations, data protection, and business partnerships. We place special focus on building strong ties with industry partners.

Our guiding policies include:

Our culture

Integration of learning and industry

We integrate teaching, research, and industry experience in all our activities. Students, staff, and industry representatives work as equals, ensuring our education stays practical and relevant.

Academic freedom

We uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and independence. While our work reflects the needs of our partners and communities, our research and teaching remain unbiased.

Regional and European connection

Dual education has long been linked to the development of europe’s regions. We continue this tradition by working with local industries and governments, particularly outside major cities, while strengthening our ties across europe.

European values

We uphold principles like inclusion, tolerance, justice, and equality in all we do. Our teaching and research address real-world issues such as healthy ageing and human-focused manufacturing, helping these values become a reality.

Student-centred learning

Our programmes are designed to fit students’ lives. By alternating between study and work, we give learners flexible and practical experiences that prepare them for lifelong learning.

Diversity

We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive community. Through our student body and the values they carry into their careers, we aim to promote fairness and opportunity in society.
