European Week 2026

European Week 2026 provided participants with an immersive international learning experience focused on the European Union, dual education, and the connection between academic knowledge and professional practice. Through a dynamic combination of lectures, workshops, discussions, and collaborative activities, students explored contemporary European topics while developing practical skills relevant to today’s labour market.

The programme brought together participants from different countries and academic backgrounds, creating an international environment that encouraged intercultural exchange, teamwork, and networking. Throughout the week, students gained valuable insights into European opportunities, mobility programmes, entrepreneurship, innovation, and the role of education in preparing future professionals for an increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing world.

A central theme of the programme was dual education and the importance of integrating academic learning with hands-on professional experience. Through interactive sessions and a dedicated panel discussion involving representatives from higher education institutions and industry, participants explored how cooperation between universities and employers contributes to the development of practical competencies, employability, and lifelong learning. The discussions highlighted the growing need for education systems that combine theoretical foundations with real-world application and international perspectives.

The academic programme was enriched by contributions from guest lecturers representing partner universities and industry professionals from PAR’s teaching bases, who shared their expertise and practical experiences from various sectors. Their participation provided students with diverse perspectives on European business practices, innovation, and professional development.

In addition to formal learning activities, European Week 2026 emphasized experiential and informal learning. Participants took part in interactive team-based activities, including a scavenger hunt through the city of Rijeka, designed to introduce them to the city’s cultural and historical heritage while strengthening communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in an engaging setting.

Beyond the educational content, the programme fostered a strong sense of international community and collaboration. By working together in multicultural teams, participants developed not only academic and professional competencies but also interpersonal and intercultural skills essential in international environments.

European Week 2026 successfully combined education, mobility, cultural exchange, and practical learning, leaving participants with new knowledge, international connections, and a broader understanding of the opportunities and challenges within the European educational and professional landscape.
