Bridging Research and Challenges: Positive Outcomes from the EU4DUAL Conferences
Creating a Dynamic Platform for Idea Sharing & Networking

The EU4Dual conferences held in 2024 and 2025 provided an exceptional platform for MCAST academics for establishing and strengthening international partnerships. Participants connected with representatives from universities and institutions across Europe, including Mondragon University (Spain) and Savonia University (Finland) amongst other universities for cross-border academic and research collaboration. Subsequent to the initial meetings during the EU4Dual conferences, further follow-up discussions were conducted to advance the development of joint research projects and collaborative programs. The identified areas of cooperation encompass social care training, circular economy research, digital heritage, and specialised engineering fields such as Finite Element Modelling. Additionally, the conference enabled sharing of research findings and innovative educational practices, which not only enriched individual projects but also paved the way for interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaborations. Moreover, participants from MCAST described the different presentation tracks as stimulating thought-provoking discussions. Participants from MCAST have described their participation in the EU4DUAL conferences as a highly enriching experience that strengthened academic collaboration, provided actionable insights for curriculum enhancement, and fostered a forward-looking approach to education aligned with global sustainability and digital transformation goals.
