Research: Supporting Trauma Informed Teaching in Higher Education
Sharing good practices in dual education with high school students

The Erasmus+ project STEP (Supporting Trauma-Informed Teaching in Higher Education) aims to address this by equipping educators with trauma-informed teaching skills. Over two years, the project seeks to promote trauma-informed methods, creating a psychologically safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Led by a consortium of five European organizations—including universities and research institutes from Finland, Germany, Austria, Croatia, and Ukraine—the project began with a kick-off meeting in October 2024. Key activities include a literature review, a survey across partner countries, and the development of a Train-the-Trainer program with open-access materials.
The goal is to embed trauma-informed principles in higher education, improve student well-being, foster inclusion, and influence European education policy—especially benefiting students with migration or refugee backgrounds.
