Wind energy is key to a cleaner future, but what happens when wind turbine blades reach the end of their life? The EoLO-HUBs project, funded by the European Union, is developing innovative solutions to dismantle, recycle, and reuse these massive structures in an efficient and sustainable way.
The project focuses on improving recycling technologies, such as low-carbon thermal and chemical processes, to recover high-quality materials. These materials, like reinforced fibres, can then be reused in industries such as automotive, construction, and renewable energy, reducing waste and promoting a circular economy.
Additionally, EoLO-HUBs is creating a Knowledge Hub—an online platform to share best practices, technologies, and connect experts in sustainable blade management. This ensures that wind energy continues to be a truly green solution, helping to build a cleaner and more sustainable future for everyone.
