About the company: MCAST was established in 2001 and is Malta’s leading vocational education and training institution. MCAST consists of six institutes in Malta and the Gozo Campus. This educational institution offers over 190 full-time courses and over 300 part-time vocational courses ranging from MQF level 1 to level 8. One of MCAST’s six institutes is that of Engineering and Transport. The Institute is organised in a number of departments and centres covering the Aviation Maintenance and Training, Building and Construction, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, and Maritime Studies.

Job duties: • Assist with setting up the hydrogen research lab, including lab organization, equipment setup, and internal gas connection logistics.
• Conduct research on green hydrogen production and storage techniques, exploring their feasibility within the lab’s framework.
• Support ongoing research projects related to hydrogen applications in transportation and energy systems.
• Collect and analyze data from lab experiments to assist senior researchers with evaluating hydrogen technologies.
• Prepare reports and documentation on research findings and lab setup progress for presentation at MCAST seminars.
• Collaborate with the Hydrogen Research Group on exploring partnership opportunities, and assist in preparing proposals for potential funding or collaboration projects.

 

Specific qualifications: • Basic knowledge of renewable energy systems, particularly hydrogen production and fuel cell technology.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and gas handling.
• Data analysis skills (Excel, Python, or similar) for research reporting.
