A successful first edition of the EU4Dual Conference was held in Malta
The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) hosted the 1st edition of the European Dual Higher Education Conference (EU4Dual) on campus in Paola from 8 April to 11 April, which had nearly 250 attendees.
Over 40 participants at a successful EU4DUAL Staff Week on Green Economy
The first EU4DUAL International Staff Week was held from 22 to 29 February in Kuopio, Finland, in the facilities of our Alliance partners at the Savonia University of Applied Sciences.
44 participants from 16 different nationalities took part in this enriching event, which was organised for staff from the 9 Alliance partner universities as well as from any other institution. Thanks to this open approach, participants from Costa Rica, China, Kosovo and Ukraine also joined the week.
In order to serve as a kick-off event for one of the major challenges that the EU4DUAL Alliance aims to address: Green Economy.
With key milestones to be achieved during 2024, EU4Dual is already a fully operational entity
During a meeting held on 5th and 6th February at FH Joanneum in Graz, Rectors from the 9 EU4Dual universities have convened to take stock of progress in building the European Dual Studies University. Building on this early momentum, 2024 will see two milestones for the Alliance:
EU4Dual will launch its course catalogue, giving opportunities to study with the alliance for the first time. 5 Joint Masters Degrees, and over 120 micro-credentials are in various stages of planning, with the first masters degree a tranche of 50 micro-credentials and a Summer & Winter School due to launch in time for next September.
April will see the organisation of the first European dual studies conference on the 10th and 11th, in Paola, Malta. With over 50 papers submitted and over 200 participants registered at this time, the conference will bring academics, policymakers and business together to set the agenda for the sector.

70 students participated in the first EU4Dual Winter School
The first Winter School of the European Dual Studies University Alliance (EU4DUAL) took place in Bidart, France. From 20 to 24 November, 70 students from these institutions actively participated in the Innovation Week on the theme of Product Design: From product/service idea to funding.

EU4Dual ready to enter operational phase after third Rectors’ Council celebrated in Hungary
During a meeting held on 6-7 November at the John von Neumann University in Kecskemét, Hungary, the EU4Dual Rector’s Council took stock of the first ten months of the Alliance’s activities and coordinated plans for the second year of operation.
The Rectors noted that the first year has been characterised by a deepening of cooperation between our respective institutions at all levels – governance, operational and academic. Each of our institutions has put in place the necessary structures and strategies to lay the groundwork for future work and to launch new joint initiatives.

EU4Dual Alliance Meeting to Address Major Societal Challenges through dual higher education
The EU4Dual Alliance, an unprecedented collaboration of nine leading dual university institutions in Europe, proudly announces the adoption of its first work-plan, during a meeting which has taken place in Malta on June 19 and 20, 2023. The rectors of each of the nine institutions have come together to plan the implementation of the mission & vision of the alliance and organise the contribution of their respective universities to its operations.
