BY PLANE

There is only one airport in Malta: The Malta International Airport.

Taxis and buses are easily accessible from the airport to any part of the island.

It takes about 20-25 minutes to get from the airport to Gzira, Sliema and St.Julian’s.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

There are a number of buses easily accessible from Gzira, Sliema and St.Julian’s to the conference. It would take about an hour to get to the conference from these cities.

The bus costs €2, but for €45, a Traveller Package can give you 7 days of unlimited bus travel. 

Always on time:  Tal-linja is a great app to help you move around in Malta and get more information.

Good to know: Do not forget to hail the bus, and that cars drive on the right-hand side!

BY CAR

The easiest way to get around Malta is by car!

eCabs, Bolt or Uber are all common and cheaper than the white taxis you would find at the airport or throughout the island. You can access and order any of these services through their apps. We recommend that you download and install their apps before coming to Malta.

You can also rent a car for the week, but remember that cars drive on the right-hand side!

FOR REGISTRATED PARTICIPANTS

As mentioned in the registration form, transport will be provided from the hotels to the conference venue in Paola (at the premises of MCAST Colleague of Art, Science and Technology). There will be marked buses with the EU4DUAL sign waiting for you and the same information will be sent to the selected hotels:

Wednesday, April 9th and Thursday April 10th:

  • For those staying at one of the following hotels, ST Hotels: Bayview, ST Hotels: Azur , ST Hotels: Blubay Apartments, ST Hotels: Alavits or The Waterfront Hotel, buses with an EU4DUAL sign will be waiting for you at 08:00 am in front of ST Bayview Hotel. Please find below the distance between your hotel and the pick-up point.  
    • ST Hotels: Azur – 2 minutes walk
    • ST Blubay Apartments – 3 minutes walk
    • ST Hotels: Alavits – 2 minutes walk
    • The Waterfront Hotel – 3 minutes walk
  • For those staying at one of the following hotels, Barcelo Fortina Malta, Cavalieri Hotel, ST Hotels: Sliema or Sliema Marina Hotel, a bus with an EU4DUAL sign will pick up participants starting from the Barcelo Fortina Malta and then pick up the other guests in turn from in front of each of the other hotels at 08:00 am.
  • For those who will be staying at any other hotel not listed above, please come to the MCAST Main Campus in Paola (you can take a taxi such as Bolt, Uber or eCabs) and, once there, we’ll assist you to get to the Conference Venue.

At the end of the conference, transport back to the hotels will be provided at 17:00 pm on both days (10th and 11th).
