EU4Dual Winter School at Savonia: A Week of Innovation and Collaboration

From 23–27 February, MUE students participated in the EU4Dual Winter School at Savonia University of Applied Sciences in Finland, together with ESTIA students and staff. Working in international teams, participants addressed real-life challenges proposed by local experience service companies and progressed through the innovation process from problem identification to concept development. The programme combined workshops, company visits, and expert coaching with activities focused on teamwork, sustainability, and self-leadership, while also discovering Kuopio and Finnish winter
Conference “Digital Skills in the Future of Work” (June 2024)

The conference focused on EU4Dual’s priorities, aiming to exchange knowledge and enhance cooperation between EU4Dual and Ukrainian universities under the EU4DUAL4Ukraine project. It addressed the Future of Work, digital skills, and the role of AI in dual education. The event included contributions from European partners and businesses, presented preliminary research results, and hosted the first Grand Challenges Forum, fostering dynamic, transnational dialogue.
Future of Work – Future of Education” (June 2023)

The international conference “Future of Work – Future of Education” took place in June 2023, focusing on dual education, intercultural communication, and cooperation between academia and industry. Participants presented research on the future of work and education, engaging in debates with entrepreneurs. Representatives from various European universities joined discussions to assess the initiative’s progress, creating a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and international partnerships.
POSJET PROJEKTU MUDUALBA NA MONDRAGON UNIBERTSITATEA

Studijski posjet u sklopu projekta DUALBA istražio je kako Sveučilište Mondragon primjenjuje svoj Dualni model. Sudionici su kroz prezentacije i okrugle stolove s fakulteta za poslovanje, obrazovanje, gastronomske znanosti i inženjerstvo upoznali Dualni model, ključne programe i iskustva nastavnika. Posjet je uključivao sesiju u Bilbao AS Fabriku i predavanje o zadružnom pokretu. Iskustvo će pomoći albanskim partnerima u razvoju vlastitog Dualnog obrazovnog modela, uz pomoć uvida u akreditaciju.
Questioning our learning process through engineering integrating a sustainability approach

This initiative designs educational content according to a defined set of specifications, with the aim of improving the learning process for both students and teachers. In this context, we integrate environmental and social considerations from the very beginning of the instructional design process. The objective is to create a coherent set of teachings delivered through various formats, fostering a new generation of engineers focused on the green economy and sustainable innovation.
Bridging Research and Challenges: Positive Outcomes from the EU4DUAL Conferences

MCAST academics and students actively participated in the EU4DUAL 2024 and 2025 conferences, presenting research and establishing international partnerships. This platform facilitated connections with institutions like Mondragon and Savonia Universities, leading to follow-up discussions on joint projects in social care, circular economy, digital heritage, and engineering. The experience was described as highly enriching, strengthening academic collaboration, sharing innovative practices, and aligning education with global sustainability goals.
EU4Dual Sustainability Report

The European University Alliance EU4DUAL has published its first sustainability report. This 44-page report, based on the European Standards for Sustainability Reporting (ESRS), covers the year 2023 and provides an overview of EU4DUAL’s sustainability performance. It includes data from nine partner universities and input from stakeholders like students, staff, and industry partners. The report addresses topics such as the value chain, emissions data, and the alliance’s sustainability strategy.
Digital humanities and digital skills in the future of work

This publication explores how digital humanities is shaping future workplaces. Written by academics from EU4Dual and Ukrainian institutions, the book examines how digital skills and technologies like artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0 affect science, work and cultural heritage. Focusing on practical and collaborative research, it provides insights into using digital humanities in education and industry.
Giving new life to wind turbine blades through innovation and sustainability

Wind energy is key to a cleaner future, but what happens when wind turbine blades reach the end of their life? The EoLO-HUBs project, funded by the European Union, is developing innovative solutions to dismantle, recycle, and reuse these massive structures in an efficient and sustainable way.
Building Micro-Grid Demonstrator at ESTIA

ESTIA has developed a Smart Building demonstrator at the ESTIA Berri campus featuring 314 photovoltaic panels covering 608m² with 127 kWc production capacity. Launched in 2023, this micro-grid aims to reduce the campus’s energy bill and carbon footprint while serving as an open platform for research in renewable energy integration. The building showcases ESTIA’s EnerGEA technological platform and fosters collaboration with laboratories and industry partners in electrical engineering and renewable energy.
