EU4Dual research collaboration

We are building a strong research community across “The European Dual Studies University – EU4Dual”. Partner institutions work together on European research proposals, joint projects, and practical innovations. This collaboration links education, industry, and society.

Collaborative projects across EU4Dual

Our nine partner universities collaborate on a growing range of European research proposals.

These projects address key themes aligned with our Grand Challenges:

  • hydrogen mobility and sustainable energy systems
  • circular and blue economy models
  • digital transformation and AI-driven innovation
  • inclusive education and new learning environments
  • sustainable manufacturing and regional innovation ecosystems

Through these initiatives, we are strengthening connections between universities, industry partners, and regional innovation systems.

Funded projects

Several collaborative projects have already secured external funding through European and national programmes.

Funding schemes supporting EU4Dual initiatives include:

  • Erasmus+, Eu4Dual’s most significant and recurring funding programme
  • Interreg Atlantic Area
  • POCTEFA cross-border cooperation programme
  • Malta Council for Science and Technology
  • Bilateral European cooperation programmes

Funded projects like TEAMIT, BLUE POINT, ORHI+, EDIT, APP MOBILITY, EXPERT, EngageAll, STEP, TESAR, and ECOVANCE+ show the wide range of skills in the alliance.

Building future research opportunities

We also develop research proposals in emerging areas. These explore topics such as:

Hydrogen-based mobility solutions

Resilient manufacturing systems

Social entrepreneurship and regional innovation

Green transition strategies

Mental health and well-being support for students

Proposals that are not funded still contribute to the alliance. They create new partnerships, refine research ideas, and prepare future submissions.

Join the research community

Our growing range of collaborative proposals shows the strong research culture at EU4Dual. We’re building an active international research network. It will enhance innovation, support regional growth, and promote societal progress.

Researchers wanting to start collaborative projects should reach out to colleagues at partner institutions via the Teachers and Researchers Network (TRN).
